Types of technology in the classroom

Technology in the 21st century is not limited to any specific field, wherever we go we can see incremental changes being made, changes to make our work and life easier. One such sector where technology has changed the scenario completely is education. A lot of new gadgets and equipment are being invented by great minds that have made teaching and learning process very smooth. In this article we will see how technology as a tool in the classroom has changed the way we studied earlier. 

Here’s a list of different types of technology that has brought in the change: 

1. Electronic whiteboards in the classroom: Gone are the days when we had chalk boards in the classrooms, this is the generation of smart boards. We no more need to dirty our hands with chalk dust, electronic stylus does all the work that chalk did. 

2. Computers and Laptops: A decade ago, schools used to have special computer lab classes to teach the basics of computer just once or twice in a week. But now, most of the classrooms are equipped with desktops. 

3. Projector Screens: Video demonstration or lectures or use of any online content can be made available to the class using projectors. They are also able to interact with professors or experts who are not physically present in the class but can guide through video conferencing. 

4. Flipped Learning: Students can now learn anywhere, anytime at heir own pace using online study material. They now have access to e-library which provides all the content they need for their studies.

Holding Cost

Holding Costs are the costs associated with maintaining inventory material throughout the year. It includes the following: Warehouse costs  Security Insurance Inventory protection Obsolete Inventory write-off Personnel Depreciation Example: A company XYZ manufactures plastic furniture that has to be stored in a warehouse and then shipped to retailers. XYZ will either lease or purchase warehouse space, and pay for utilities, insurance and security for the location. The company will also pay the labor to transport inventory into the warehouse, and then load the sold merchandise onto trucks for shipping. The firm also has some risk that the furniture may be damaged as it is moved in and out of the warehouse. All these cost comes under holding cost.
